Activities and responsibilities
As a
Bench Scientist in LC-MS Bioanalytics (f/m/d), you'll be responsible for driving bioanalytical innovations within research projects, with a particular focus on complex peptides. Your role involves actively contributing to the development of bioanalytical strategies for these modalities, as well as conducting measurements on resulting samples or training and mentoring colleagues in new techniques. In this role, you will serve as the liaison between the technicians in the laboratory and scientists, representing the department in project teams for analytical topics related to these techniques/modalities. Additionally, you will provide input in study planning, evaluation, and/or review of studies. Promoting technical advancement within the field of peptide analytics is also among your core responsibilities.
- You independently develop and, if necessary, validate sensitive and complex analytical methods for the quantification of drugs (with a specific focus on peptides) in biological matrices
- You drive the advancement of analysis methods for these modalities and perform measurements using high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS) or Triple Quad MS
- The independent assessment of analysis results is within your responsibility
- You establish and implement new innovative analysis techniques, including the development of automation concepts
- You autonomously assure the functionality of the laboratory infrastructure and resource planning
- You scientifically represent bioanalytics in global project teams
- Active contribution to the development of a concept for the utilization of HRMS in GxP-regulated environments is also part of your function

- You hold a master's degree or a PhD in a natural science field such as Biochemistry, (Analytical) Chemistry, or equivalent
- Your expertise extends deeply into the field of LC-HRMS, and you bring knowledge in nano-/microflow HPLC applications
- Initial experience in research and development (R&D) are advantageous
- You bring practical experience in establishing and optimizing analytical methods and have a strong foundation in peptide synthesis and bioanalytics
- You are able to assess results of your own scientific area in the project and portfolio context and to communicate these results to non-experts in this field (both internally and externally)
- You exhibit a high level of self-motivation and teamwork, along with the ability to work in an interdisciplinary environment
- Fluent proficiency in spoken and written German and English round off your profile
